Beltane honors fertility, both of the land and metaphorically within individuals and communities. It is a time of rejoicing in the vitality of the earth as it bursts forth with new life, and a recognition of the interconnectedness of all living beings.
Traditional rituals may include dancing around the bonfire. This ancient tradition symbolizes purification, renewal, and the igniting of passion and creativity. As the flames leap skyward, participants move in rhythmic patterns, invoking the energies of the sun and the earth, and celebrating the power of transformation and growth.
