From job opportunities to healthcare to a child's education, all aspects of life are built on the ability to understand words and numbers.

September is National Literacy Month and the perfect time to become a volunteer at the Literacy Council of Western Arkansas.

Just 1-2 hours a week tutoring an adult in reading or math can change the trajectory of that family for generations to come.

Melissa Astello and I spent a couple of inspiring days in July with Literacy Texas and their Annual Conference! We are geared up for a great rest of the year!:)

Thank you to Arvest Bank for supporting our partnership with the Fort Smith Senior Activity Center! This grant will help us place computers and offer digital literacy classes at senior citizen centers across the county.

Two hours a week. That's all it takes to change how someone experiences the world.

Adults in our community are waiting for a tutor so they can read a prescription label, fill out a job application, or finally read a bedtime story to their kids. No teaching background required — we train you and match you with a learner.
