The Montessori School recognizes that there is a difference between schooling, which somehow in the last century in the United States has often become trivialized and mechanical, and an education, which must be designed and executed in such a way that it is significant and meaningful for our children each moment they are with us. This difference lies not simply in the subjects we teach, but in the

Did you know The Montessori School has a summer program? This week our focus is "In the Garden"...so today our kids took a trip to the Charlotte Tidwell Memorial Garden! It was a fun and informative way to learn how people in our community help one another. We toured, learned about vegetables, fruits, herbs, and insects; and then we saw the garden's beehive, picked flowers, squash, and peppers! The gardeners gave us vegetables and plants to take home and share ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒถ
If you have an interest in gardening and volunteering, we highly recommend checking out the Charlotte Tidwell Memorial Garden. You'll experience community service in action - just like we did!

Much respect to our After Care teachers at The Montessori School! They take children after a long hard day of brain work and give them a safe space to play, run, and decompress. These women are the epitome of love, encouragement, and hope!
1. Elizabeth Sullivan - Ms. Elizabeth is an RN, and thought she'd always be a nurse, but after becoming a Montessori parent, and having the opportunity to assist at the school, she was encouraged to work here, and finds it so rewarding! Elizabeth gives her beautiful energy not only to our After Care Program, but also as a parent volunteer, which makes every day better for all of us.
2. Star Martin - Ms. Star wanted a career as a Mortician! When we needed someone enthusiastic and energetic for After Care, her friend Ms. Lily recommended her for the job. Something unexpected that surprises Star daily is how independent our Montessori kids can be. (She's got that right! ; )
