This summer, a group of our OTD and DPT students had the opportunity to serve in Honduras! We enjoyed hearing them reflect on the trip and share their experiences with fellow students at a recent joint ACHE PTSA and ACHE OT SOTA meeting. 👏

Recently, a group of second-year OTD students completed their Level I-D fieldwork for Aging-in-Place. Dubbed “The Home Mod Squad,” our students conducted a hands-on assessment of a local home and developed practical, personalized recommendations to promote safety, accessibility, and independence in the homeowners’ valued occupations. They then presented their aging-in-place design to the homeowners.

Their work demonstrates how occupational therapy can help individuals modify their homes to continue engaging in what matters most to them! 👏

Yesterday, we held our annual Scrub Club Donor Reception!🌟 Our OTD and DPT students had the chance to meet the generous donors who sponsored their custom scrubs.

Thank you to our donors for believing in our students and for supporting the next generation of physical and occupational therapists. 👏

Learning across disciplines strengthens future patient care!👏

Our second-year OTD and DPT students recently explored assistive technology designed to promote safety, independence, and mobility for older adults and individuals with physical challenges.

Along the way, they gained a deeper understanding of each profession’s distinct focus and how occupational and physical therapists use these tools to support their patients.🌟

Our free Fall Prevention Program for older adults returns this fall!
