This week, we proudly welcomed the fourth cohort of students to the ACHE Mentoring and Achievement Preparation (M.A.P.) Program! 🌟

The M.A.P. Program aims to empower students from underrepresented and underserved communities by providing education, mentorship, and hands-on experiences as they explore careers in occupational therapy and physical therapy.

Participants came from Fisk University, Langston University, Jackson State University, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Arkansas Tech University!

We are looking for stroke survivors and caregivers to take part in a no-cost, two-week research study evaluating an evidence-based arm rehabilitation program that can be done at home!

This Hand Therapy Week, we’re celebrating the specialized care that helps patients regain function, independence, and quality of life after injury or surgery. 🖐️

We’re proud to have two faculty members, Cynthia Mathis, MOT, OTR/L, and Robert Saviers, MS, OTR/L, who are Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs)! They are experts in a highly specialized field dedicated to the rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, and wrist).

With fewer than 50 Certified Hand Therapists in Arkansas, their expertise plays a vital role in preparing the next generation of occupational therapists and advancing patient care across our state.
