Handy Dandy Tutoring

My student and I worked on CVC word trains this afternoon. They were able to sound out each letter and then blend them together to form a word (or in some cases, a nonsense word). We then changed the initial letter to create a new, but related, word 🚂

All of my slots for tutoring in person have been filled! I can’t wait to work with these incredible kiddos 🩷

I do have Monday afternoon open for virtual. If interested, please send me a message 😊

I’m excited to kick off another school year! As many of you know, I fill up quickly. This year I have fewer tutoring spots available than in previous years due to additional responsibilities, so availability is very limited.

Remaining openings at the on post library or virtual tutoring:
* Tuesday: 4:00-5:00(taken)
* Tuesday: 5:00-6:00 (taken)
* Thursday: 3:30-4:30 (taken)

Remaining openings for virtual tutoring only:
*Monday: 3:30-4:30
*Monday: 4:30-5:30

If you’re interested in a spot, send me a message! Once these are filled, I’ll begin a waitlist.

I can’t wait to work with another amazing group of students this year! ❤️

Hi everyone! I wanted to reintroduce myself as we head into a new school year. My name is Mrs. Jade Handy. I’m a third-grade teacher who loves helping students build confidence and realize they can do hard things.

A few random things about me:
• I’m a full-blown, self-aware coffee addict. Shoutout to Bahlm Co Coffee Bar in JC for being my local dealer!
• This summer I discovered I genuinely love being outdoors. Kayaking, hiking, and leisurely walks have become some of my favorite ways to spend free time. I have the beautiful Canadian summer weather to thank for that!
• I’ve also fallen down the Cricut rabbit hole and have been making shirts and all kinds of personalized projects.
• I fixed my first windshield chip this summer, and it made me realize I actually enjoy learning new DIY skills.

When I’m tutoring, my biggest goal is for kids to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and leaving each session feeling a little more confident than when they started. I firmly believe that confidence is at least half the battle in education!

Attached are some of my favorite summer photos ☀️ 🇨🇦

I’m not really sure how it’s almost August, but here we are! I’ll be leaving Canada tomorrow and driving home, so I’ll be back and responding to messages by mid-week.

As I prepare for another school year, I’m officially opening my tutoring schedule for the 2026–2027 school year! Slots are LIMITED so please make sure to reach out if interested.

With another busy year ahead as a full-time teacher and district leader, I’ve made a few updates to my tutoring program:

📚 2026–2027 Updates
• One-hour sessions only (30-minute sessions will no longer be offered)
• $50 per one-hour session

*Returning families will have first choice of weekly time slots before I open any remaining availability to new students*

If you’d like to reserve a spot, send me a message! My schedule fills quickly each year, and I’d love to work with your student.

Thank you again for your continued support. I can’t wait for another great year! ❤️

As the school year comes to a close, Handy Dandy Tutoring will be taking a physical break and a social media break for the summer ☀️

I’ll still be checking messages periodically, but posts and updates will be limited while I spend time traveling and enjoying summer with my family.

Tutoring updates for August and fall scheduling will be shared later this summer. Thank you all for another great year!

Starting June 5th, I’ll be taking the summer off from tutoring while my family and I travel across the USA and Canada.

Tutoring will start back up in early August, before school begins again. I’ll post scheduling information and availability at the end of July.

Thank you all so much for supporting Handy Dandy Tutoring this school year. I truly love working with your kids and watching their confidence grow. I’m so grateful for all of the families who have trusted me with their students this year, and I can’t wait to see everyone again in August.

✈️ ☀️
Just a reminder that I’ll be in Florida until early Wednesday the 29th. My afternoon and evening sessions will still be held that day (providing there are no travel delays).

Forever grateful to Bahlm Co Coffee Bar for saving me today at school. I needed that energy boost to get through state testing!

☀️ SUMMER UPDATE ☀️

I will continue tutoring as normal through June 5th. After that, I will be out of state and then out of the country until the end of July, so I will not be available during that time.

Ms. Solis will be available for tutoring throughout the summer if your child would like to continue working and stay on track.

I will begin tutoring again in mid August. Current tutoring families will have first priority for fall time slots before I open scheduling to new students.

Please reach out if you would like to set up summer tutoring with Ms. Solis or if you have any questions. Thank you for all your support this year!
