Here are some great ideas to celebrate Literacy Week!

Celebrate Literacy Week (January 25 - 29)
Thursday Literacy Tips
1. Write out words with opposite meanings on separate pieces of paper and have your child match the pairs together (i.e. huge‐tiny).
2. Make up a story by having each family member add a sentence to a story starter; expand on the individual character traits, the setting of the story and exciting events/adventures.
3. Set aside additional reading time or add extra bedtime story time as a reward for good behavior.
4. Encourage your child to write a book about their day.
5. Help your child read the labels on different bottles and containers, including the shampoo and conditioner bottles at bath time.

Don't forget! Today is early release. Kids get out at 1:00pm.

Tomorrow is CRAZY Hat Day! SLE students are encouraged to wear their favorite crazy hat. Bring in $1.00 and join in on the fun! What will your child be wearing!?!

There is no school, Wednesday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day.

Also, this Friday, November 13th, is Crazy Hat day! Have your child bring in their $1.00 and they can wear a crazy hat for the day. It's sure to be a great time!

Florida Family Engagement in Education Month is a time to celebrate the important role parents and families play in their children's education. When schools work together with families to support learning, children are more motivated to succeed-not just in school, but throughout life.

Come on out to Math Night tonight from 3:30-5:30!

Join us tomorrow, October 28th, for our school wide Character Book Parade!
Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite story book characters. Be sure to have them bring the book with them.
Pre-K - 2nd Grade: 8:45am - 9:15am
3rd Grade - 5th Grade: 12:15pm - 12:45pm
**Spaghetti straps, body paint/hair paint, toy weapons or heels are NOT permitted**
