Hands-On Learning with ICA FFA!

Today, FFA member Cynthia brought learning to life by bringing two of her goats and several chickens to campus! Even better, Cynthia took the lead, teaching her classmates what she knows about caring for, handling, and working with both animals.

This is what FFA is all about: students learning by doing, sharing their knowledge, developing leadership skills, and understanding the hard work and responsibility that come with agriculture.

As our ICA FFA program continues to grow, so does our vision for the future. One of our goals is to someday have an on-campus barn and agricultural learning space where even more students can have opportunities to work hands-on with animals, learn responsibility, build practical skills, and experience agriculture firsthand.

We are proud of Cynthia for stepping up and sharing her knowledge today, and we are excited to keep growing opportunities like this for our Anglers!

Learning by doing. Leading by example. Growing ICA FFA.

ICA FFA IS MAKING ITS MARK!

This weekend, ICA FFA was proudly represented at the Battle on the Beach Stock Show in Vero Beach, and we have some BIG accomplishments to celebrate!

Congratulations to Annestyn Evans and her steer, DJ Moo, who brought home:

Reserve Champion AOB Steer
Reserve Champion Supreme

What an incredible accomplishment for Annestyn and DJ Moo!

We are so excited to see our students getting out into the community, stepping into the show ring, and proudly representing Independence Classical Academy FFA with their animals.

As our FFA program continues to grow, so do the opportunities for our students. Agriculture education and FFA teach far more than how to raise and show livestock. Students develop responsibility, leadership, work ethic, confidence, public speaking skills, agricultural knowledge, and an appreciation for the hard work that goes into feeding and supporting our communities.

We are proud to be building a program where students can learn by doing, develop skills that will last a lifetime, and carry the ICA name into show rings, competitions, and agricultural events throughout our community and beyond.

Congratulations, Annestyn and DJ Moo! We are proud to have you representing ICA FFA!

What an AMAZING Family Night at the Book Fair!

Books were bought, memories were made, and so much fun was had! It was a fantastic night spent with our ICA family and friends, filled with everything from alligators to armadillos, Bookman to face painting, burgers to Kona Ice, and, of course, BOOKS GALORE!

We cannot thank everyone enough who came out, spent time together, supported our Book Fair, and supported ICA. Nights like this are what make our school community so special.

A HUGE thank you to our incredible volunteers who gave their time to make this evening possible, and to all of the community partners who joined us:

🐊 Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for bringing out their awesome demonstration trailer AND a real live baby alligator!

🚒 St. Lucie County Fire District for bringing out a fire truck for our students and families to explore!

🍧 Kona Ice for serving up plenty of sweet treats!

🍔 Getting Smashed Burgers for keeping everyone fed!

📚 Children’s Services Council and Bookman for joining in on the fun!

🦔 Texas Roadhouse and Andy Armadillo for stopping by to visit our families!

🎨 Fancy Faces for all of the amazing face painting!

And most importantly, THANK YOU to every ICA family and friend who came out and made the night such a success. We loved seeing everyone spending quality time together, laughing, learning, exploring, and finding some great new books to take home.

What a night! ❤️📚
