Prematurity affects one out of ten babies born in the U.S. today. The numbers are even more alarming for African-American babies who have a one-in-six chance of being born too soon.
Every year 15 million babies are born too soon, it's a staggering number and many of those babies would have a much greater chance of survival with access to basic healthcare.
We want to raise awareness of all premature babies and their families, remember those babies who fought bravely but never made it home, and also give thanks to the medical teams who care for our precious babies in neonatal units around the world.
