Meet Joy. Our newest addition to our family. My sister and I visited a local shelter and she just would not let me leave without her. She was in a tiny and narrow cage...crying and crying. So...of course I took her out. That was it! There was no way I could put her back. We named her Joy because when we brought her home and put her down, she was thrilled and her JOY to be home was so apparent to all of us. Hopping and running around. Jumping, playing, wanting in our laps...so she told us her name was Joy. Then she met Baby Boy. After a few hisses on his part...they became great brother and sister friends. They are together a lot and play together.
She is very young...just barely adoptable. But more than ready...neutered, vet tested, chipped. Etc. It was a lucky day for us and a great gift after my successful hospital procedure. We are all having a blast with Joy!.

To clarify for all in one post.
I was in the hospital this past week having the Watchmans Procedure implanted into my heart. The latest method for AFib instead of blood thinners. There are possible dangers with blood thinners, especially if on them for extended length of time. But it is all about preventing strokes which I did once already.
The blood thinners started causing me to have little blackouts. I fell on my tailbone and fractured the first vert., etc. So had to come off the b.thinners.

Watchmans is an implant into the left lobe of the heart that opens up like an umbrella and stops clots from moving into the brain to cause a stroke. Seems scarey but procedure is common and not all that invasive. One night in the hospital after to make sure all goes well. I never knew a thing! Last time recalled was them putting the IVs into my arm...then woke up in recovery wondering when we were going to start...ha! All done. Don't remember anything at all. No pain ev er. Easy. Went home next day with a few restriction about bending, lifting. Heavy stuff...just to protect the incision through the groin to the heart. No driving either. Otherwise...I feel fine. Very quick recovery. All is well.
SOl team has pretty much stepped up and kept the ball rolling. They work hard. I am blessed.

Hello Everyone. Stitches of Love for our Community is in need of volunteers to help teach sewing to youth. We are a 501c3 and we teach youth how to sew for FREE. Our classroom is at the Indian River Presbyterians Church on the corner of Virginia and 25th/aka/MLK Blvd. (2499 Virginia Ave.)
Our classes are free to youth between 9 and 17. classes are held on Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00pm. We run in 8 to 10 weeks in a series. It depends on the school calendar. "Our Mission Statement: To teach youth the art and skill of sewing and to inspire stewardship for our community. " Each series of classes students make one item to donate to an agency or organization that serves people with needs.
Everyone is a volunteer. No one is paid...this is how we are able to offer our classes for free. Everything is provided and we are fully equipped in our own classroom.
Our Team is a lovely group of people who all work together and support each other. We have a great time watching these young folk learn to sew and you can see their delight and confidence in their abilities blossom. Very fun and rewarding project.

Folks...beware of a SCAM about something wonderful happening to someone you really do know. They go by an organization UNDEF. It is a SCAM that is really going after a lot of people and using people you know and are friends with to get to you. They claim that something wonderful has happened to your friend...SCAM...SCAM...Act as if it is your friend actually talking to you. NOT...SCAM.
