Dolly grew up poor and created the Imagination Library because her father couldn’t read or write. Since 1995, it has grown from a local Tennessee program into a global book-gifting program, sending millions of free books to children every month.

She is one of our biggest inspirations.

The DeKalb County Public Library finished its Summer Reading Program today at the beautiful Little River Canyon Center. We had a wonderful time learning about live animals and fossils while celebrating a summer filled with reading, learning, and fun!

Thank you to all of our readers, families, volunteers, presenters, and community partners who made this year’s program such a success. We are so proud of our young readers and hope you continue to read and explore all year long.
