🐷 It’s time to SQUEAL with excitement! 🐷

DeKalb County 4-H is gearing up for the 2027 Pig Squeal Project!
This hands-on program teaches youth how to care for, raise, and show pigs while building responsibility and confidence.

📅 Important Details:
• Cost: $175 (for two pigs) — No cash accepted
• Ages: 9–18 (as of Jan. 1, 2027)
• Mandatory Meeting: December 8, 2026
• Pig Pick-Up: January 16, 2027
• Show & Auction: Tentatively May 8, 2027
💰 Entries Due: November 13th!

Our hike for tomorrow has been rescheduled for December 5th due to the potential rain and storms that are forecasted for the area.

🥾🌲 Northeast Alabama 4-H Regional Hiking Club! 🌲🥾

Ready to hit the trail? Join our 4-H Hiking Club and explore the outdoors while building confidence, friendships, and a love for nature!

Throughout the year, youth will participate in guided hiking trips across multiple counties, discovering new trails, learning outdoor skills, and experiencing the natural beauty of our region—all while having fun and staying active.

✅ Open to youth interested in hiking and outdoor adventure
✅ Multiple hikes planned throughout the year
✅ Learn trail safety, teamwork, and environmental awareness

🚜🌱 Sand Mountain & Beyond Tour Day! 🌱🚜
Our Sand Mountain & Beyond 4-H members had a great day exploring careers and industries across Marshall County! From marine and agriculture to manufacturing and aviation, our group got to see so many different career opportunities firsthand.

A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed our 4-H members, shared their knowledge, and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at their operations! We’re excited to keep learning, exploring, and discovering what’s possible beyond our own backyard! 💚

Cherokee County 4-H & DeKalb County 4-H are teaming up for another great year of Livestock Club! 🌱
