"Thank you to everyone who attended the 2026 Fort Payne Middle FFA Awards Banquet on Saturday, May 9th, and thank you to Roadside Que for catering it; the BBQ was delicious!

The banquet provides us with the opportunity to recognize and honor students who have dedicated their time, effort, and commitment to our chapter throughout the school year. From competitions and leadership development to community service and classroom achievements, our members have represented Fort Payne Middle FFA with pride.

To our students and their families, thank you. Without the support of our members and their parents, our chapter would not be capable of the success it has achieved. Your encouragement, involvement, and belief in what we do make all the difference.

A very special thank you goes to our 8th-grade officers. Thank you for your dedication and leadership over the past two years. Each of you has grown tremendously in your confidence, public speaking skills, and commitment to serving our chapter. Your willingness to step up and lead has played a major role in the success of our program. As your advisor, I am incredibly proud of each of you and the leaders you have become. I wish you the very best as you begin high school and continue your journey in the high school FFA chapter.

Thank you again to all of our students, parents, faculty, and community supporters who continue to invest in our program. Your support never goes unnoticed.

Thank you for believing in the future of agriculture!"

One of the Fort Payne Middle FFA officer team’s goals for this year was to focus on serving our community. As part of that goal, FFA wanted to show our appreciation to the School Resource Officers who work each day to protect our students, staff, and school community.

To make this project possible, students in Ms. Hollis' 7th-period agriscience class built woodworking projects that were sold at Tractor Supply Company during National FFA Week in February. Through their hard work and the support of our community, they raised nearly $700. Using these funds, they assembled appreciation baskets for all seven SROs in the Fort Payne City School System, including six officers and Rona, the K-9 officer.

FPMS FFA and agriscience classes would also like to extend a special thank you to Tractor Supply Company for generously donating six YETI tumblers for the baskets. Their support helped make this project even more meaningful. We hope each officer knows how deeply grateful we are for their dedication, courage, and commitment to keeping our schools safe. We also appreciate the sacrifices their families make in supporting them as they serve our community.

8th Grade Science classes made paper airplanes. They tested and recorded the planes carrying payloads of varying mass. The students used problem-solving skills to determine throwing methods and weight distribution. To conclude the activity, they graphed their results.
