In our FY27 General Fund, 69% of spending goes to personnel. Here's exactly where that money goes:

✅ 85% to school-based staff working directly with students
✅ 9% to central office personnel
✅ 6% to bus operators and attendants

The overwhelming majority goes straight into schools. And that central office slice? Those people process payroll so teachers get paid, run the buses that get your student to class, and keep the lights on so learning can happen.

After eight months of contract negotiations, five months specifically over compensation, the School District of Lee County is filing for impasse with the Teachers Association of Lee County (TALC). The district determined that further bargaining sessions without substantive movement from TALC would only prolong the process and further delay pay increases for Lee County teachers.

College Night at Florida SouthWestern State College was a success! Juniors and seniors from across the district gathered to meet a variety of college representatives and determine which school is best for them.
