An Eagle Making an Impact Across Florida! 🦅

Today’s features David Vincent, an FGCU graduate and Citrus County Sheriff who has been appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.

Vincent earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from FGCU and has dedicated his career to serving his community. In his new role, he’ll help shape standards and training for Florida’s criminal justice professionals.

Great leaders don’t just look toward the future, they learn how to build it. 🏗️🦅

Last Friday, members of the FGCU Alumni Association Leadership Academy went behind the scenes during Construction Management Day to explore how thoughtful planning, strong leadership and hands-on learning are helping shape the future of FGCU and Southwest Florida.

The cohort heard from FGCU President Aysegul Timur about the university’s vision, its impact on the community and the work underway to move that vision forward. Participants also learned more about the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering and the hands-on experiences and skills FGCU students are gaining to prepare them for careers that will help shape our region.

The group explored FGCU’s master plan and learned about what’s ahead for campus, including new buildings, AB10 and employee housing. They also had the opportunity to step inside active construction projects and see the progress firsthand.

Last Thursday, FGCU alumni gathered for our first-ever Lunch Bunch at alumni-owned Lombardough’s Pizza & Beer. Coach Raina Harmon shared her vision for the upcoming season and connected with alumni as we enjoyed an afternoon of conversation, community and Eagle pride. 🦅

Dillon Rosenthal, a 2026 FGCU entrepreneurship graduate and founder of BounceBack Pickle, is currently competing in the UK for the chance to win $1 million.

Through BounceBack Pickle, Dillon is turning trash into treasure by collecting old and damaged pickleballs and recycling them into good-as-new ones, literally giving them their bounce back. 🏓♻️

Today’s features brothers Travis Fricke ’07 and Justin Fricke ’09, Southwest Florida natives and FGCU graduates who help lead Fish Tale Boats.

The Fricke family has owned Fish Tale Boats since 1996, growing the business into a family-owned marine dealership with three Southwest Florida locations in Fort Myers, Naples and Bonita Springs.

Now celebrating 30 years, Fish Tale Boats continues to serve boating families across Southwest Florida while earning recognition as one of the region’s leading boat dealerships.
