I have the best research students! This is why I do what I do - not for the nice words (though they sure help on tough days) but to mentor the next generation of scientist, researchers, and physicians. Mentors - what you do matters. Students - you’re capable of so much more than you may think. Reach high eagles!

Our Member of the Month is Meghan Seth
Here is a little bio about her:
"Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. My name is Meghan Seth. I am from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am a senior majoring in Biology with a pre-professional concentration. I am currently preparing for the MCAT and applying for this upcoming cycle. I’ve been doing research with Dr. Rhodes for the past three semesters. I really enjoy working with the ER-positive breast cancer cell line, MCF-7. I find it fascinating seeing these novel stilbene analogues created by Dr. Paul having an effect on the ER-positive cell viability. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pets."

Although not cancer related, our Historian, Taylor McCabe is a part of the COVID-19 Antibody research study on campus. Depicted in the photos below, Taylor retrieves a blood sample from an individual, where it is tested for the positive markers of IgG or IgM, which are associated with COVID-19 antibodies!
One of our focuses of the Cancer Research Program is providing and encouraging our students to get involved with research. We will be having a meeting on February 23rd at 5:30pm over Microsoft Teams, where different professors will be sharing their research and how our students can get involved!
GO EAGLES!
