Debra “Debi” Elaine Perkins Vickers, 63, of Cape Coral, passed away on October 3, 2017, after a brief illness.
A former resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, Debi, along with her parents and brother, moved to Cape Coral in 1962. They were among the early pioneers to the area.
Debi followed her heart and became a nurse. She loved working with and caring for people. She made many lifelong friends throughout her career.
Debi has several friends that she has known for over 40 years. One from school, one a pen pal from when she was in the Brownies, and one from nursing school. She once had a patient from Sweden that, despite the language barrier, did her best to comfort and care for. They became friends, and have known each other for over 20 years. She thinks of all her friends as family.
Debi was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Marion Perkins. She is survived by her husband Steven, son Todd, her brother Kenny (Lynn) Perkins, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
A memorial service for Debi is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Faith Presbyterian Church, located at 4544 Coronado Pkwy, in Cape Coral. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to; St Jude’s or Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals, Habitat for Humanity, or a no kill pet shelter. If you plan to attend the service, please do not wear black. Debi would want it to be a celebration of her life.

Can't wait to see everyone
The date has been set for the 45th Class Reunion of the Class of 1972! October 13th & 14th 2017. It will be held at the Pink Shell Resort! I tried to get a date in September but either the venue was not available or there weren't enough rooms.
We will have rooms available at 2 different places but they are owned by Pink Shell Resort. They will be at Pink Shell Resort and Sandpiper Gulf Resort.
The festivities will be at Pink Shell both Friday and Saturday. Friday will be a meet and greet and Saturday will be a wonderful Buffet Dinner and live music of our time. To cover the expenses it will be 85.00 per person. This is the best I could find and the place is beautiful with tons of things to do.
I think it will be the best reunion ever!!!
Please make your arrangements ASAP, so we don't loose any rooms. You can call 1-800-797-7465 and ask for Cypress Lake 1972 Class Reunion per Gary.
PLEASE CONTACT CLASSMATES THAT AREN'T ON FACE BOOK AND SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH THEM!!!
I am sharing this on my personal FB page too!!!
