Ketchup used to be… fish sauce. 🤯

Yep. Before tomatoes ever entered the recipe, “kê-tsiap” was a fermented sauce from Southeast Asia made using fish, salt, and spices.

As trade spread across the world, the recipe evolved.

Then in the 1800s, America added tomatoes…
and the ketchup we know today was born. 🍅

The word “ROBOT” sounds futuristic today…

“robota”

In the story, robots were artificial workers built to obey humans.

The word “viral” existed LONG before the internet. 🤯

Originally, scientists used it to describe diseases that spread rapidly from person to person.

Then the internet borrowed the word…

And suddenly:
videos,
memes,
songs,
and trends
started “spreading like a virus.”

That’s literally why we call it VIRAL today. 🌍

A scientific word…
became internet culture.

The word “MEME” is older than the internet. 🤯

It was actually invented in 1976 by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins.

He used it to describe:
ideas that spread from person to person…
just like genes spread biologically.

Then the internet arrived…
and turned that scientific theory into:

🐸 internet jokes

So yes…

The next time you hit “delete” on a spam email… remember this. 🤯

The word “SPAM” didn’t start with the internet.

It came from a Monty Python comedy sketch about canned meat… where the word “SPAM” was repeated over and over until it became unbearably annoying.

Years later, the internet copied the same idea for junk emails.

A comedy joke.
A can of meat.
