Kombatan Florida

One of the things that is important to our group is keeping the traditions alive. When we reach a concept or technique we try to reach it the way it was originally taught to us. Kombatan is made up of many concepts from different Arnis systems mainly from the negros region of the Philippines. I am often amazed at the genius of GGM Ernesto Presas Sr. And those around him that helped to organize the systems into kombatan.

This is a short video to give you an idea how twirling exercises can be applicable with other weapons such as the knife. It's a good example of an exercise some would not understand at face value, but has deeper applications once it is explained.

This past weekend, the 2023 KM Black Belt Camp was held in Estes Park. We all had a great time with great training, food, and comraderie.

We will be heading out to thus years west coast KM camp held in Colorado under GM Shelley Millspaugh. Other teachers are the camp will be SM Alex Ercia, Masters Damon, Abraham, Master Jason Sullivan and Master Dan Lowman. It's going to be a great camp up at Estes Park, Colorado.

Those students have been with me since 2011/12 and have dedicated that time to training every class and attending seminars/camps. This rank allows the students to teach without the guidance of a senior ranked student. We are proud of you guys.

We also bid farewell to G**o Justin as he and his family are moving to St. Paul, Minnesota in a few weeks. We wish him luck on his new adventure!
