One of the coolest glazes out there is by Penguin Pottery and it glows in the dark! There’s a couple different colors you can get but I got aqua.

My special class in August was five days of building a dragon story with clay. Their caves and dragon eggs got to light up in the dark like magic and they sparkled too because I grew borax crystals inside as well. Right on top of the glaze and clay.

Have you ever grown crystals on your pottery pieces before? Tell me about it!

Clay Explorers is an introductory clay class designed to teach kids the basics. Still working on fine motor skills? No problem! This is your class. I believe the product is not as important as the journey you took to get you there. But a cute lil pumpkin tea cup and saucer really helps too!

That is what I’ll teach the kids to make in September’s Clay Explorers class. The morning class sold out so I am opening afternoon sessions on Sept 8th and 22nd from 1-2:00. On the 8th, we make everything. On the 22nd, we will glaze the projects.

Class is $45 and held at my home studio in Stoneybrook, Gateway. More details on HandsOnClay.net and that’s also where you can sign up.

😅 So here’s the deal…
… Clay Explorers is sold out …

And it’s a really cool project! Pumpkin tea cups and leaf saucers that can actually be used and put in the dish washer.

I can’t let anyone miss out on this project. So here’s the plan.

If you didn’t make the 10:30-11:30 class, I’ll create a 1:00-2:00 class. But ONLY if enough people enter the 10:30 waitlist.

You enter the waitlist the same way you sign up but you won’t have to pay yet.

This gives you a second chance at one of my favorite projects of the year! 🎃

In August I taught a 5-class series called Mythical Clay. We created stories about our dragons, grew crystals on clay, played with glow in the dark glaze, created our dragon characters, and even glazed a friend for our dragons. Here are our finished dragons! 😍 🐉
