Each year, the LAMP staff chooses two graduates to receive two very distinct and special awards.
First, The Spirit of LAMP is given to a young lady who exemplifies what it means to be a LAMP mom and who sets an example for her peers. The young lady we chose ticks all of the boxes for the Spirit of LAMP Award. She not only takes responsibility for her education, but she’s always eager to help her classmates. She’s a role model for others, as she was active in school activities and supporting LAMP. Her cheery disposition brightened everyone’s day, and her silliness made us all smile. And most importantly, she’s an excellent mom. She’s patient and loving with her son, and she beams with pride when talking about him.
Congratulations to this year’s winner… Angie Paillere
Our Turnaround Award goes hand in hand with why LAMP’s mascot is a butterfly. Just as the caterpillar metamorphosizes into a butterfly, the Turnaround Student may start with us as student who is uninterested in school. However, by the time she leaves the ‘cocoon’ of LAMP, she has changed into a serious student with wings now ready to fly. Our Turnaround Student was like that when she came to us, and school wasn’t her priority. However, she amazed us with her personal growth and she soon became a top student. One of the newer teachers commented that he cannot imagine that this student was ever anything but an excellent student.
That incredible growth is the reason why this year’s Turnaround Award goes to… Anna Heinzman. Congratulations!
We are so proud of you both!
(Pictures of the ladies will be posted later. We wanted to keep it a surprise)

We miss our students and are sad that we won't get to see them again this school year. Here are some highlights of the good times we had this year though!
