Happy Friday, everybody! ๐ŸŽ‰ We made it to August 21!

I hope you all are having an amazing Friday! โค๏ธ

Now, I have something special coming up, and Pastor Ryan and I would love for you to meet us on Zoom Friday, August 28, from 6:30 PMโ€“7:30 PM!

Our conversation will center around this powerful question:

Are you chasing intensity when God is calling you to consistency?

๐Ÿ‘€ How many of us have chased those intense moments with God but struggled with being consistent in our walk with Him?

Join us for a time to grow, learn, connect, ask questions, and become better together! We will also have time for Q&A, and interpreters will be present. ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿพ

You still have time to register!

Just show up! We are excited to connect with you and grow together. See you on Zoom! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพโœจ

Lesson Plans Matter! ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿฝ

If you are a teacher working with a Deaf or hard-of-hearing student, letโ€™s talk about something that is VERY important: lesson plans.

Educational interpreters need access to your lesson plans BEFORE the lesson.

And no weโ€™re not asking for your lesson plans so we can copy them. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Weโ€™re not trying to take over your classroom or teach your lesson.

We need them so we can prepare.

Just like you prepare before teaching your students, interpreters have to prepare too. We need to review vocabulary, understand the content, research terminology, and look up signs that may be unfamiliar to us.

Because you and the interpreter are working together as a team.

Your hearing students are receiving the lesson directly from you. The Deaf or hard-of-hearing student deserves that same access to the information and preparation helps the interpreter make that happen.

So, teachers, when you provide your lesson plans, youโ€™re not just helping the interpreter.

Youโ€™re helping us better serve the Deaf and hard-of-hearing student.

Lesson plans arenโ€™t just paperwork.

Theyโ€™re preparation for access. ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ“š

Educators, this one is for you! ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝโ€๐Ÿซ

If you have a Deaf student in your classroom, please remember: the interpreter is there to facilitate communication NOT to replace the relationship between you and your student.

Instead of saying, โ€œCan you ask the Deaf studentโ€ฆ?โ€ or โ€œTell themโ€ฆ,โ€ talk directly to your Deaf student. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

The interpreter will interpret what you say, just like they would for any other conversation.

This school year, letโ€™s grow, learn, and create meaningful relationships with our Deaf students. Your student deserves to feel included, respected, and directly connected to YOU.

Letโ€™s make it a successful school year! ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿพ

โœจFE TALK FRIDAY IS BACK!โœจ

Weโ€™re kicking off our return with a conversation that I think many of us need right now:

CONSISTENCY OVER INTENSITY

What happens when the motivation is gone? How do we keep moving forward without burning ourselves out? And what does faith look like in seasons of waiting?

Join me and Pastor Ryan for an honest conversation about discipline, faith, burnout, rest, healthy rhythms, and learning that consistency matters more than trying to do everything perfectly.

Although we didnโ€™t know Kaylee personally, our hearts go out to her family, friends, and the entire Texas School for the Deaf community during this heartbreaking time. Today, weโ€™re lifting Kaylee, her family, and the entire TSD community up in prayer. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿพ

Weโ€™re praying that God brings comfort, peace, and strength to everyone who is grieving her loss. Kaylee touched so many lives, and her impact will not be forgotten.

Keeping her loved ones, friends, and the Texas School for the Deaf family in our thoughts and prayers. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
