🫵🏻 DID YOU KNOW?

Every year, the Fort McDowell Fire Department conducts annual fire inspections of all commercial buildings throughout the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

These inspections help ensure compliance with fire codes and identify hazards before they become emergencies. Our goal is to protect lives, property, and the community by maintaining a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.

Fire prevention is just as important as fire response, and annual inspections are one of the best ways to reduce fire risk.

🚒 Prevention today. Protection tomorrow.

☀️ Extreme heat is here. With temperatures expected to stay above 110° for the next several days, now is the time to protect yourself and your loved ones.

💧 Drink water before you feel thirsty.
🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—not even for a minute.
👵 Check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family members who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

A few simple steps can prevent heat-related illnesses and save lives.

Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.

The northbound lanes of State Route 87 are closed near Fountain Hills.

The closure is due to a brush fire at milepost 209, which is about 19 miles north of Fountain Hills.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek an alternate route.

There is no estimated time to reopen the northbound lanes. The southbound lanes are unaffected.
