I forgot to mention in my previous post:
1) We can no longer accept new CCAP families due to SB25-276.
2) Our openings are for ages 18 months and older.
3) We do teach a preschool program. The cost is already included in our rates. We are not part of UPK. I have my own program I teach. It is posted on the website.

It's hard to believe school starts in 4 weeks. This summer is flying by. Starting August 17th we will have 2 day openings, 2 before and after school openings and two seats available for transportation before and/or after school. Our rate sheet is posted on our website. We provide transportation from Twombly, Butler, Homyack schools and to Twombly and Butler. Today was library day. One of the books she read was after the John Denver Song Rocky Mountain High. She asked if anyone knew who He was and the song and I said yes. I think I was the only one. lol totally showed my age on that one. The funny part to me though was when she read the part Rocky Mountain High it showed the little girl swinging high on a swing. I was laughing (inside of course) because that is not what he meant by that phrase. 🤣

We decided to add a squirrel house to our daycare to help teach about squirrels this summer. Our goal is to help children learn to respect other little animals that share our little area.

It has been brought to my attention that rumors are going around I will not be providing transportation to and from the re-8 schools for the 26 - 27 school year. That is not true. We did talk to our daycare parents and parents of the children we provide transportation only services to, to make sure that the transportation services were still going to be needed this next year due to the school district offering a after school program next year. We had enough parents who needed our services to keep the service available for another year. We still have 3 seats available for next year if any parents need transportation service to and/or from Twombly, Butler. We provide transportation service for Homyack for after school only. I have had people in the community ask me if the new public daycare and after school program that the school distrist is opening will hurt the childcare facilities in Fort Lupton. There are 5 of us that I am aware of. I cannot speak for the others but for myself that is not a simple yes or no answer. About 10 years ago the state starting making it harder for private childcare facilities by passing more and more rules and regulations. The cost of adding everything the state wanted added cost to tuition. Grant money helped offset some of the cost from time to time. Then the state passed SB25-275 which in a nutshell states if a private childcare facilitiy takes any kind of gov't money ( CCAP, Grant, UPK ect.) they are no longer private they become a public facility. So, now I can no longer accept new CCAP children or apply for any grants to offset the new rules they keep passing every six months give or take. Then UPK came around. A few of the providers enrolled, I did not. Yes, that did hurt. I have not had a full crew for a year. Now the school district is opening up a daycare and after school program. Great. I cannot compete with the gov't. The daycare part is about the same as what I charge. The after school program could kill my transportation/after school program. I have talked with my daycare parents and I will keep the transportation/after school program open next year for the 26/27 school year and see how it plays out. If there is not the demand needed anymore for the service we will take another look at it for the 27/28 school year. We are not closing our daycare. We will do like we have done in the past and find a work around. I have been licensed since the 1990's and I am going to keep going. Told you it was not a easy yes or no answer.😁 Thank you for reading my rant and I hope you have a wonderful day.
