The Leon and Leona Brauser Maimonides Academy (BMA) is a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School committed to academic excellence in both Judaic and General Studies, while maintaining a warm, nurturing, learning environment in which our students thrive intellectually, socially and spiritually. The school seeks to instill within each child a lifelong love of Torah with adherence to Halacha; love and resp

ect for Klal Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael; commitment to mitzvot; development of positive middot, and proficiency in modern Hebrew. The uniqueness of a BMA education is its child-centered approach, which focuses on each student’s individual character and personality. The cultivation of responsibility, discipline, self-esteem, confidence and genuine love and respect for all people is the hallmark of our education. Through growth in character, spirituality and Torah knowledge, BMA strives to produce graduates that are uplifted by their education and motivated to become contributing members of the Jewish community and the world at large.

The Class of 2027 kicked off their year at BMA with an unforgettable day of bonding and team building at Tigertail!

The boys challenged themselves on the ropes course, while the girls took to the water for paddleboarding. Both groups also tackled the Aqua Challenge separately—pushing past their fears, cheering one another on and strengthening the friendships they’ve built throughout their years at BMA.

Here’s to a year filled with growth, connection and unforgettable moments as they prepare to carry the flame into high school!

Our middle schoolers are taking a stand—literally!

This week, Rabbi Fein launched a brand-new course, Torah U’Madda: The Pursuit of Happiness. Through a “human thermometer” activity, students shared their perspectives on where Torah stands on AI, music, movies and social media.

Over the semester, they’ll explore the approaches of six great Jewish thinkers, wrestle with real-life tensions and develop their own understanding of how to hold Torah in one hand and the world in the other.

Our Kindergarten and 1st Grade families came together for special back-to-school meet-ups! Our students laughed, played and began building new friendships during a fun-filled program with Coach Jared, while parents connected and enjoyed time together as a community.

It’s been a BMAzing week as we welcomed our full staff back to campus for a week of professional development, learning, and classroom prep! 🧡💙

We kicked things off with our Milestone Ceremony, celebrating faculty members marking 5, 10, 15, and an incredible 20 years of service—Mazal Tov to Morah Yael Waxman! Our milestone honorees received their apple awards and special lanyard pins, with Morah Yael earning her coveted 20-year BMA jacket. We also presented Morah Goldie with a special Teacher of the Year pin commemorating her recognition at last year’s Gala.

The week continued with professional development focused on Torah U’Madda, our mission and vision, and exciting initiatives for the year ahead.

Tomorrow, we cap off the week by welcoming our students back to campus for Orientation Day. We can’t wait to see everyone!
