Not everyone in your life is good for your peace—and that matters.

Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend say that safe people are the ones who help us grow just by being in our lives. So naturally, unsafe people do the opposite.

Here’s the thing: not every unsafe person is an abuser, but their behavior can still be harmful. Spotting those red flags early is one way to protect your energy and build healthier relationships.

🧠✨ Let’s talk psychological abuse — aka emotional abuse.
It’s subtle, manipulative, and meant to make you question you.

It often shows up as gaslighting — a toxic tactic where someone distorts your reality to gain control.
It sounds like this:

🗣️ “You’re so emotional. You need help.”
🗣️ “I never said that — you’re imagining things.”
🗣️ “You’re just insecure, I wasn’t flirting.”
🗣️ “Don’t get upset over nothing.”
🗣️ “You always twist what I say.”

😣 Over time, this can make you second-guess your memory, your instincts, and even your sanity.

Let’s talk about the abuse that leaves no bruises…

Psychological abuse is subtle, insidious, and often dismissed—even by the person experiencing it. It can sound like:
💬 “You’re too sensitive.”
💬 “You’re crazy, that’s not what happened.”
💬 “No one else would ever love you like I do.”
💬 “You will never find someone better than me.”

It chips away at your confidence, sense of reality, and emotional safety over time.
