“You’re Accepted” are two of the greatest words current high school students will read in the coming months. As the acceptance letters start to trickle in, we would like to be able to feature our CCS alumni and their new collegiate letters. If you are a current high school senior, with B I G plans for the fall, please message us! Let’s celebrate all of your accomplishments! 🎉

Do you have a memory you’d like to share from when you attended CCS? We want to hear from our CCS alumni near and far. What was one of your favorite memories during your time at CCS?

Ways to help your child understand a difficult concept:

Are you looking for a way to discuss race and equality with your children? We have compiled a list of powerful resources to talk with children about diversity, equality, and racial reconciliation.

God’s Dream by Desmond Tutu is a beautiful board book for the youngest of children about the beauty of diversity.

Strictly No Elephants by Lisa Mantchev is a touching story about a little boy and his pet elephant who is not allowed to into a club. A great resource for talking with children about equal rights and celebrating diversity.

Separate Is Never Equal: Sylvia Mendez and Her Family’s Fight for Desegregation by Duncan Tonatiuh is a children’s book detailing the story of young Sylvia and the treatment she experienced as a person of Mexican descent. This book is a wonderful resource for elementary age children.

This Book is Anti-Racist: 20 Lessons on How to Wake Up, Take Action, and Do The Work by Tiffany Jewell is a great resource for older elementary and middle school students who are ready for deep conversations about race, ethnicity, and identity.

Though these and many books about race and reconciliation are sold out at the moment, all of these titles are available digitally and will provide a great time of learning for your family during this time of unrest in our country.

God’s Peace,

Pastor Monique McBride
