THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!!
I have been selling self protection products for 20+ years but for the last 7+ years I’ve pretty much “dropped the ball” because life got in the way. Life has once again throw me a curveball but this time I caught that crazy ball and decided that I was going to start controlling which direction my life would travel. I made the decision to not only do what I enjoy doing but what I feel gives my life purpose…andI know in my heart that KISS Survival Services is my passion.
However, the struggle has taught me that survival isn’t just about protecting yourself and your loved ones physically but also mentally and emotionally. It is about SELF PRESERVATION!!
I will still be teaching self protection tactics and selling items to support those tactics…but I will be expanding into the preservation side and what it takes to persevere and whatever our “new normal” has become in our lives.

So KISS Cohorts....I had a rather rough week last week in that I was a bit "under the weather" and it caused me to get behind on my postings. But I'm doing well now and feeling great so I'm ready to get back to helping you secure your homes to keep you and your loved ones safer. I all ready posted on one of my favorite weapons for the home...the bat...and have a lot more postings coming.

A baseball bat can be a good weapon for the home. However, as with any weapon, you should know how to use it. Yes, basically, it’s picking it up and swinging it at an intruder/attacker….but it can also be easily grabbed away from you by your attacker and used against you. One of the best ways to prevent this is to make a “beer bat”, covering the end of the bat in broken glass from beer bottles. You can also wrap the end of the bat with barbed wire or razor wire…just be careful because you can cut yourself badly if you don’t know how to work with those wires correctly. Today's burglar advice for Home Security is:
• Make it difficult for someone to conceal themselves while breaking in. Avoid tall/thick shrubs around your windows and doors. Avoid privacy fences.
Now I have to tell you...I understand this one but I can't say that I totally agree with it 100%. Yes, it is true that tall/thick shrubs can certainly provide concealment for a would be criminal, but for me, it also permits privacy in front of my windows and I have a set of 9 1/2' x 4' windows in the front of my house. Having the shrubs gives me a lot of privacy without having to close the blinds all the time. It also shades my house and cuts down on a/c use. So to compensate, I'll give you a 2nd bit of advice from our burglar:
• Having good exterior lighting on a timer helps, but the best thing is a motion sensor floodlight. When a motion light kicks on, it says "Hey, something's going on over here."
I have great motion detection lighting around the permieter of my house. If anyone gets anywhere close to my front door, the garage door or the back yard, there is a flood of light. So what you need to do is take the advice and apply it to your own residence and your own situation. Sometimes, you need a combination of all these different tips. For instance, I have the outdoor lighting and I also have 4 dogs that make it impossible for anyone to sneak into my home without notice. And btw...today's pics are from my home...you can see the mass of foliage near my front door and one of my motion detector lights...this one is outside my garage. From that picture you can see I have a large wooden privacy fence for my back yard...another thing that the burglar advises against...but combined with the motion sensored lights and locks, I will go against the burglar's advice again and keep my fence. I like my privacy.
