Our teachers deserve to learn in the language in which they can engage deeply, ask questions freely, collaborate with one another, and immediately connect new concepts to their classrooms. 🇭🇹

P4H’s training model is designed to be culturally and contextually relevant, not simply translated from somewhere else and applied to Haiti. That distinction matters.

If we want professional development to translate into stronger classroom practice, the learning itself has to make sense for the educators and communities it was created to serve.

A very special shoutout to the Little Haiti Trust! 🇭🇹❤️

The Haiti Rising Documentary Premiere is happening in large part because of their generosity. Little Haiti Trust believes in investing in people and organizations that uplift our Haitian community, and we are so grateful that they have chosen to invest in P4H time and time again!

For the Haiti Rising documentary they stepped up in a HUGE way by covering the cost of our theater rental at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. That support means so much to us and helped make this premiere possible.

And this isn’t the first time they’ve shown up for P4H. They also supported us during our KPK Tour, continuing to stand behind work that celebrates Haiti, strengthens our community, and moves our people forward.

Before training begins, we listen first.

One of the first steps in P4H’s School Quality Assurance program is understanding what a school and its educators actually need through a diagnostic evaluation.

Our team gathers information through things like classroom observations and teacher / director interviews. That information helps identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

Effective professional development shouldn’t begin with assumptions, but by understanding the people you’re there to support.

That’s a crucial part of how P4H approaches classroom transformation: diagnose first, then develop.

The goal of this week is to strengthen teachers’ capacity to teach civic education in a dynamic, practical way that is connected culturally, historically, and socially to Haiti.
