Summer is in full swing at Cardinal Gibbons!
This week, Summer School, the Summer Engineering Academy, and summer camps all got underway, bringing students back to campus for a season of learning, discovery, and fun. ☀️☀️

A few weeks after Commencement, we’re still celebrating the incredible accomplishments of the Class of 2026. 🎓 From academic achievements to college acceptances and service hours, these statistics reflect the hard work, dedication, and spirit of an outstanding graduating class. Alumni Spotlight: Alyssa Pasvantis and Jonathan Kass, Class of 2018

We are proud to celebrate Alyssa Pasvantis and Jonathan Kass on an incredible achievement! On May 16, 2026, they both earned their Medical Doctorate degrees with Honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine. As members of the Top 10 of the Class of 2018, Alyssa and Jonathan exemplified academic excellence during their time at Gibbons. Their accomplishments are a testament to years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication to serving others. We are honored to call them members of the Cardinal Gibbons family and look forward to seeing the impact they make in the medical field. Congratulations, Dr. Pasvantis and Dr. Kass! Your Gibbons family is proud of you!

Welcome back, Class of 1976! This morning, we welcomed our alumni back to campus as part of their 50th Reunion Weekend! After beginning the day with Mass at St. John, they toured campus and had the opportunity to see many of the changes that have taken place over the years. Thank you for spending the morning with us. We loved having you back!❤️

Yesterday, we celebrated the end of another incredible school year at our Faculty and Staff Luncheon at Anthony’s Clam House! It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, appreciation, and reflection as we recognized the faculty and staff members whose dedication, commitment, and passion have helped make this school year such a success. In addition to recognizing these impressive milestones, we also enjoyed our “Oscars” awards ceremony, where faculty and staff members were celebrated with fun superlative awards voted on by their colleagues. The lighthearted tradition provided plenty of laughs and was a great way to recognize the unique personalities and contributions that make our school community so special.

A special thank you to Margie Dettor and Karla Lyons for making this luncheon so special! Thank you to all of our faculty and staff for another outstanding year. Your dedication to our students and commitment to our mission continue to make a lasting impact each and every day.

Celebrating Ms. Bianchi! After 21 years of shaping minds, expanding horizons, and bringing the world into our classrooms, we celebrate the retirement of Ms. Patricia Bianchi from our World Languages Department. For 19 years, she also served as the heart of our Model UN program, developing students into global thinkers and future leaders. The good news? This is not goodbye. Ms. Bianchi will continue to be a beloved presence on campus, supporting our Athletics program and lending her expertise as a substitute teacher. Twenty-one years of dedication. A lifetime of impact. Thank you, Patsie. Cardinal Gibbons is forever better because of you.

Congratulations to recent graduate Ayden Ambrose on another national journalism achievement!

Earlier this year, Ayden produced a news story on Cardinal Gibbons’ new student ID policy, working diligently to create a fair and balanced piece that incorporated both student perspectives and factual reporting. The story was submitted to the Student Television Network Spring Nationals competition and earned an Honorable Mention in the News category at the national level.

This marks Ayden’s second national award this year. In the fall, he earned 2nd Place in the Nation for his sports feature on Brandon Clarke.

We are incredibly proud of Ayden’s dedication, talent, and commitment to excellence in journalism, and we can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes in the future!
