One word summarizes 2024 for me.

Growth.

Here's the funny thing about growth though

It can be slow or rapid

Organic or manufactured

Seamless or excruciating

And for me in 2024, all of the above

I was really blessed by relationships, old and new,

that took my business places both expected and novel

I came into the year with a focus on evolution

and leave the year with extreme clarity and vision

I'll be transparently sharing my goals for 2025 next week

but for the rest of this week I'll be reflecting in gratitude

How would you describe your 2024?

I learned more in 2024 than I had in the previous 5 years

Some lessons on purpose...others by bumping my head

They all have positioned 2025 to be a year like none other

My conversations, observations and experiences have informed me on what to expect as the biggest opportunities

Opportunities to coach, lead, train and guide

Opportunities for organizations to invest, grow and explore

Hit play for my 'Hot Topics' menu for the next year

What's on the front page of your legal pad?

I don't coach people on the "ABC's" of leadership

We focus on "5 C's" instead

Character

Confidence

Connection

Charisma

Courage

Each are uniquely important

and can be developed with the proper coaching

What do you "C" as your greatest space to grow in 2025?

I thought great leaders were improvising to answer quickly

I wondered why they knew so much more than I did -

Then I saw the power of systems and how to leverage them

Consistency isn’t flashy, but it’s transformational

Managers often look for new tools or quick fixes
yet the best results come from working the systems
already in place to build confidence and credibility

When leaders consistently follow proven processes,
teams thrive, goals are met, and growth is sustainable.

The magic isn’t in reinvention—it’s in disciplined ex*****on.

Trust proven processes to achieve results.

Align systems with team values for impact.

Consistency builds confidence, trust, stability, and success.

I had to face down imposter syndrome head on this week

A contract depended on it and my reputation was at stake

I leaned into 'practice what you preach' to overcome and persevere

Prepping for a prospect pitch, I knew it wasn't a perfect fit

It was an industry that I had worked around the edges but not in

There would be some questions I wouldn't have answer for

Some terminology would be used that I wasn't familiar with

But the common denominator was people..and I'm an expert there

I recognized that I was worried about the sides and not the entree

"Do what you do..lean into your unique advantage..use your superpower"

That self talk silenced the self doubt and shut down the imposter syndrome that was starting to creep in

I had to see it, recognize it, label it and address it.

That's the formula. Try it and see!

Leadership can be lonely sometimes

A lot rests on your shoulders and there isn't always a playbook

This is a primary reason I started a coaching business

I worked with hundreds of leaders who were trying the best they could

Yet they were often frustrated, overwhelmed, confused or worse

They didn't need help with the 'tactical'...they were experts at that

The 'transformational' was the constant obstacle they faced

Communication, trust, wondering if they were making a difference

They needed a community and often that started with one person..me

Someone who was an expert in people and interpersonal dynamics

Another set of eyes and ears to confide in and bounce things off of

The results frequently have been career changing if not life changing

PS. If you've made it this far, are you ready for to transform 2025?

I thought individual self-doubt was harmless to organizations

until I saw the ripple effects cascade downhill through teams.

Recognition and recalibration can halt the slide before it gets too far

Imposter syndrome causes leaders to second-guess decisions

micromanage, be resistant to change and avoid taking calculated risks

This hesitation slows team momentum, creates a culture of fear,

and leads to missed opportunities for innovation and growth.

When teams sense their leader’s uncertainty, trust erodes,

engagement plummets, collaboration ceases and fear emerges.

By addressing self-doubt head-on, leaders can rebuild confidence,

inspire trust, and create a proactive, empowered team culture.

P.S. Do you think self-doubt impacts decisions or team morale more? Let me know!

Individual self-doubt costs companies more than they realize.

When leaders lack confidence, the ripple effect is real.

Productivity dips as teams wait for clarity.

Engagement fades when authenticity is missing.

Company culture suffers when fear replaces vision.

Missed opportunities lower ROI.

Team morale depends on leader confidence.

Fear leads to a reactive, not proactive, culture.

P.S. Does your team struggle more with doubt or action?

The #1 tool you need to overcome imposter syndrome?

I was fortunate to work this week with a client to

deliver a Myers Briggs workshop to 178 people on their team.

Throughout, we focused on one core theme that drives everything..

Including the first ingredient in the antidote for imposter syndrome..

The answer is in the video 😜

12/05/2024

A client shared how his “stern approach” was hurting his team’s trust.

He had shifted away from his authentic leadership style

people focused, caring, approachable, but firm.

Imposter syndrome told him he needed to "be tougher"

so the people on his team could grow and be more productive.

Instead, we worked on vulnerability, starting with sharing his intent:

“I’ve been pushing hard because I care about our success.”

His team responded with renewed trust and collaboration.

Trust->Influence->Authority->Opportunities

That's the formula. No shortcuts. No skipping steps

This year I worked with a leader who felt “unproductive”

after a day filled with conversations.

She didn’t see how those small moments—

listening, asking questions, and building trust—made a difference.

When she reframed leadership as creating relationships,

not just delivering tasks, instruction and correction

her confidence skyrocketed and her team’s engagement followed.

P.S.: Do you use conversations as a leadership tool?
