As 2023 ends, I wanted to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to our incredible NSU MD team, to our students, friends and supporters. 2023 was, thus far, the most rewarding and successful year in our medical college's history. This includes:
• A 100% NMRP match for our students,
• Achievement of full LCME accreditation status,
• Expanding our reach in UME/GME to JFK and Orange Park Hospital in Jacksonville,
• A new Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program with the College of Dentistry
• Expanding Collaborations with Broward College's Simulation Center, and
• Spectacular community interest in and growth of our Master of Biomedical Science Program.
• Almost 200% growth in grant and research support
All these incredible achievements could not have been accomplished without the dedication and hard work of our stellar faculty, staff and benefactors.
My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kiran Patel and his incredible family for all their unwavering support and friendship.

Recent days have brought unprecedented challenges and opportunities to our higher education and academic medicine community because of the ongoing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Last week, the U.S. Government declared the COVID-19 outbreak a national emergency, enabling significant actions to diminish the risk of further infections as well as to protect the U.S. economy. As government and university officials continuously monitor this situation, it has become clear that proactive, rather than reactive measures are necessary to diminish viral spread and minimize health and safety risks to students, faculty, staff and our communities.
