Last week, the School of Criminal Justice hosted a day full of activities, beginning with an interactive Stop and Frisk Simulation workshop for students.

Then, the NSU Sociodrama Club: Stage For Change partnered with Dr. Tara Jungersen from the College of Psychology for a performance on mental health awareness for incoming freshmen and Psychology graduate students.

Lastly, students attended the Criminal Justice Career Pathways and Opportunities Forum, where they learned more about the newly approved and reimagined B.S. in Criminal Justice program. Representatives from the Davie and Plantation Police Departments joined faculty and students for the event.

FCE&SCJ Professors Drs. Elizabeth Aguila and Timothy Scala hosted two presentations on AI, its benefits, and its dangers for members of NSU's Lifelong Learning Institute last week. Attendees learned the fundamentals of AI, its different uses, and how to use it ethically and responsibly.

In the second presentation, guests used Mursion simulation-based software to practice conversations with children about the advantages and challenges of using AI.
