STOP đ asking⌠what do you do?
Great communicators know that itâs a very guarded question!
Those of us who are solopreneurs, or in the entrepreneurial world know that there are many situations where we have to give our pitch, but Iâm talking aboutâŚ
How can we become great communicators, overall!
We never know what anyone is going through. Maybe someone just retired and they have no idea whatâs next for them.
Maybe theyâre in a great job according to you, but maybe they are burnt out, dislike their work, and they want to pivot.
Maybe the person youâre asking that question to just got fired and feels lost and unsure about the next part of their journey.
Instead, when we ask, whatâs something that inspires you, or what is something exciting that youâre working on?
⌠We open the door for self expression and allow for people to be more ofâŚwho, they are!
So please⌠Stop askingâŚwhat do you do?

Great communicators⌠Know how to make others feel⌠Important!
If youâre meeting someone and you ask a question, ensure that you listen to them, even if someone tries to distract you by jumping into the conversation.
I was at a networking event yesterday, having a lovely conversation with a woman asking her what inspires her to do her work, and another woman came in to announce who she was, and introduce herself.
In that moment, because I understand that communication is an energy exchange, I wanted to honor the flow of that conversation, and I politely said oh I was just listening to how she is inspired by her work, just a second.
And the woman walked awayâŚ.
In these moments, itâs really important that weâre aware.
Take a moment and add onto the conversation. Listen for something you can understand, and then respond.
Or even say, Hi, âwhat are you all talking about?â
We all want to feel important! And we get to do that when we feel truly listened to.
Talking to our plants has quite a few benefits!!

We have been taught to give⌠âpresentationsâ.
And that means we are giving ideas. We are giving information. We are giving perspectives.
And that is very one-sided! We actually donât stop talking.
Yet, John Maxwell, one of the pioneers in communication, teaches us to have better conversations with our audiences, whether itâs an audience of 10,000, 100 or even 3 people.
How can we do that??
Take a moment and check for understanding! Invite your audience to think aboutâŚwhat are you taking away so far from this information? Whatâs landing for you? What does this mean to you, or for you?
It actually requires a different part of the brain, to process what is being heard.
If youâre looking for more Impact, deeper connections with your message, more sales, more conversions, send me a DM with the word âconversationsâ and Iâll send you something to get you started.
Stop âgiving⌠âpresentationsâ.
Weâve all been trained to give presentations, to give our ideas, thoughts, perspectives.
And this means we donât stop talking!
One of the best ways to deepen your connection to your audiences, whether itâs an audience of 10,000, 100 or three peopleâŚ.
Is to start having, what John Maxwell talks about⌠conversations!
When you start checking in with your audience, to ask them to reflect on what youâre saying, for example what does this mean for you? What is this look like for you? What are you taking away from this?
Youâre actually creating an energy exchange.
And this is what great communicators do!
If you want to create more results, more impact more sales, more conversions, start this by strenghtheninf your connection with your audience.
Type the word â or send me a DM and Iâll send you something to get you started.

We have been taught to give â presentationsâ!
It sounds good in theory, because we are giving information, we are giving new perspectives. YetâŚ.the whole essence of a presentation doesnât allow us to truly digest what is being said.
Why? Because we just keep talking when we get presentations.
John Maxwell said it best. Great communicators have âconversations with peopleâ, whether youâre speaking to an audience of 10,000, 100, or even 3 people.
My clients hear me say this a lot..communication is an energy exchange!
When we can actually stop presenting for a moment, and ask our audience, what are you taking away from this information, whatâs resonating for you, what are you hearing, what does this mean for you, this⌠is when we create real connection!
If you want to have âbetter conversations with your audiencesâ, so you can have more impact, more sales, more conversions and more results, send me a DM with the word âconversationâ, and Iâll send you something to get you started!

One of the biggest communication issues that I see isâŚ.
Itâs not just about what we say, or the fact that we said it three times!
Itâs about⌠How did our audience receive it?
As communicators, we need to understand some people need to see it. Some people need to hear it.
Others may need to experience it.
And most of the time, or audiences wanna know why does this matter to me? What does it mean to me?
The more we can seek to understand how our Messages is being received, the more influence we will have.
And that, and that leads us down the road of having a greater connection, more presence, and more Impact.
Where are you leaving money on the table?
