Today is Juneteenth, and we would like to take a moment to acknowledge this historic day, which marks the end of slavery in the United States in 1865 and commemorates the emancipation of Black Americans. As we reflect on our country's history, let us continue to fight for justice, liberty, and freedom and against oppression, racism, and hatred.

This is the first week of pride month! The WCC is committed to remaining a safe space for all Sharks, today, tomorrow, and all year long. Happy Pride!

This Memorial Day we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and to their families.

Your favorite writing center staff recently attended the Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA) conference in February! This amazing annual opportunity provides both consultants and faculty alike with the ability to attend and present at a well-known conference over the course of a few days. This year's conference was held in Memphis, Tennessee, and invited attendees to explore how our writing centers are places of advocacy, renewal, and building bridges toward change and innovation. Hello from Graceland!

The WCC has reached a huge milestone! As of today, we have conducted 50,000 consultations since opening in 2018. Thank you to all of you who have continued to support our center. 🥳
