I would love to talk with you about what is NEW at UMFK. You could choose to study creative writing with a Nature and Environmental Writing—NEW—focus. Plan to enroll in a Fall 2024 course!

Seven week session one: ENG 340: Special Topic Fantasy Writing
and seven week session two: ENG 345: Imaginative Writing,

Are you wondering what is next for you? Consider Nature and Environmental Writing at UMFK. We offer a certificate upon the completion of at least six courses, which would also be a minor. Talk with your advisor or the registrar’s office about this possibility.

You could take courses in:
American Nature Writing, Fiction Writing, Poetry Writing, Journal Writing,
Imaginative Writing, and Creative Non-Fiction Writing.
Plus, you have the option to explore a specific genre deeper—with more advanced courses, such as Fiction Writing II, or Poetry Writing II, or to select special topics courses—designed with you in mind, working closely with experienced faculty—who are experts in this field.

We also have a new general education course that was approved for the Visual and Performing Arts and Philosophy category—ENG 150 Expressive Writing. This will be offered in the first seven-week session, online.
