Oveta Culp Hobby Elementary

Summer has officially begun for our students and teachers, but reading is always in session!

We are so excited to share that, thanks to proceeds from our Scholastic Book Fair, we were able to purchase a “Hobby Little Free Library!” This special addition will only be successful with your help and support from our Patriot community.

We are starting the library off with books, and it will operate on the honor system:
📖 Take a book, leave a book.

Please help us keep this space enjoyable for everyone by:
⭐ Leaving books in good condition
⭐ Respecting the books so they can be shared with others
⭐ Taking only ONE book at a time so all students have an opportunity to participate
⭐ Being gentle with the library door
⭐ Not leaving books outside of the book bin

We want to keep this area clean, welcoming, and fun so every student can experience the joy of reading all summer long. Let’s continue fostering a love of reading while showing kindness and respect for our shared space!

Congratulations to our nominees! Each month, teachers recognize students who embody the character trait of the month. This month, we celebrated students who demonstrated integrity for the month of May!

Congratulations to our Perfect Attendance Winners! 🛴

These amazing students showed dedication and commitment by attending school every single day this year! Their names were entered into a randomized drawing, and we are excited to celebrate the winners from each grade level. Some grade levels even had only one student achieve this incredible accomplishment!

A huge thank you for the donated scooters that made this celebration even more special. We hope our winners have the BEST time riding all summer long — safely of course, with a helmet!

We are so proud of all of our students, and next year we hope to see even MORE names on the perfect attendance list! Keep up the great work, Patriots!

Today is the Today is the LAST day of the 25/26 school year at Hobby Elementary!
Our students are spending the day making memories, enjoying class parties, and soaking up every last moment with their friends and teachers. While all good things must come to an end, we are so proud of everything our Patriots accomplished this year!

Today at Hobby we celebrated our soon-to-be first graders with a beautiful Kindergarten Graduation! It was so special watching our students walk with pride as their families cheered them on with smiles, applause, and lots of love. We are always proud of our Patriots, but today these kindergartners truly shined like stars! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish in first grade.

Join Us for the final Hobby Tots class of the school year. We will see you Tomorrow, Tuesday May 26, 2026 at 9:30 am. We will kick off the summer with a mess, please dress appropriate. Can't wait to see you there!
