From building and creating to exploring, experimenting, and problem-solving, hands-on learning was happening all across Meadows! 🧩🎨🔬

Our Roadrunners spent the week learning new routines, making connections, finding their rhythm, and settling into a brand-new school year. Through it all, our classrooms were filled with joy, curiosity, smiles, and LOTS of learning! 💚💛

We are so proud of our Roadrunners for jumping in, trying new things, and starting the year strong.

Week One was just the beginning… and we can’t wait to see how our Roadrunners LEVEL UP from here! 🎮⬆️

Good afternoon, Roadrunner Families!

We want to provide an important correction and clarification regarding the walker information previously shared. After realizing that the guidelines we were referencing were several years old, we contacted School Support Services at the Shoemaker Center today to confirm the most current guidance. We apologize for the confusion and appreciate your patience as we worked to ensure families have accurate information.

The current guidelines are:

Students ages 10 and older

may walk home independently.

Students ages 6–9

may walk home with a buddy who is the same age or older.

Students ages 5 and younger

must be released to an adult.

We also want to clarify the purpose of our walker dismissal. Students designated as walkers should be physically walking off campus at dismissal.

We understand that some families may prefer to drive to campus, park, and walk up to retrieve their child. Please keep in mind that our front parking lot is very limited. Vehicles may only park in designated parking spaces and may not park along curbs, in fire lanes, or in other areas not designated for parking.

For the safety of our students, families should not enter, drive through, or park in the bus lane for any reason during arrival or dismissal. This area must remain clear so our buses can safely enter, load students, and exit campus.

If you are driving to campus for dismissal, we strongly encourage you to obtain a valet tag and utilize our car valet process at the back of the building moving forward. This will help reduce congestion in the front parking lot, keep our bus lane clear, and allow our walker dismissal area to function as intended.

Thank you for your grace and flexibility as we work through the first days of our new dismissal procedures. We are continuing to evaluate our processes in real time and make adjustments that prioritize the safety and efficiency of dismissal for every Roadrunner.

Best,

Kara Smith
