1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN
Beginning March 1 and continuing henceforth, the St. Clair County Library System announces its participation in the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program!
"1,000 Books Before Kindergarten" is a widespread challenge to read one thousand books (any books; repeats are okay) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler before they begin kindergarten—and we're kicking off our own challenge! Log each book you read into the Beanstack tracker to earn some milestone rewards, including a backpack just in time for school. Each branch will also have a backdrop available upon request to take commemorative photos at each milestone.
Remember: 1,000 is just a number. The real goal is to build reading aloud into your regular routine, then let the magic of storytelling do the rest. Happy reading!
Note: If you've already made an SCCLS Beanstack account for the library's summer reading program. You do not need to create a new one. Just select the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge from your home page.
The SCCLS Beanstack tracker can be found by scanning the QR code in the photo or at: https://conta.cc/4s0YfmO
Please contact your local branch for more information.
