Congratulations to two of Fort Gibson's very best!

Retired Fort Gibson Superintendents Tom Stiles and Derald Glover continue to serve as active pillars of both our school district and our community. This summer, each received well-deserved recognition for a lifetime of service and leadership.

Mr. Stiles was honored by the Oklahoma Schools Advisory Council when its annual scholarship golf tournament was renamed the Tom Stiles Student Scholarship Golf Tournament in recognition of his unwavering commitment to Oklahoma's students and public education.

Mr. Glover was inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame, a fitting honor for his tremendous impact on generations of student-athletes, coaches, and the game itself.

We are incredibly fortunate to have both of these outstanding leaders remain actively involved in our schools and community. Their legacy is measured not only by what they accomplished during their years of service, but by the continued difference they make in the lives of the students who walk our halls each day.

Congratulations, Mr. Stiles and Mr. Glover, and thank you for your past service, your present commitment, and the lasting impact you continue to have on Fort Gibson Public Schools.

Stages don’t get much bigger than the ones on Broadway, and Easton Wicks, class of ‘26, officially punched his ticket to perform on a Broadway stage after winning the 2026 Discovery Awards and being named the top male musical theatre student in Eastern Oklahoma for 2026.

This incredible achievement earned Easton the opportunity to compete at the country’s premiere musical theatre competition for high school students, the Jimmy Awards, which will be held in New York City on Monday, June 22nd at 6:30 CT.

Easton has been in NYC for an intense 11-day workshop with Broadway professionals, all leading up to a massive showcase where he will make his Broadway debut at the Minskoff Theatre, current home of the musical, "The Lion King," on June 22.
