Please welcome our new Kindergarten teacher, Anna Kilcollins!
Hi everyone! My name is Anna Kilcollins, and I am so excited to be joining Fort Fairfield Elementary School as a new kindergarten teacher! I recently graduated from Thomas College in Waterville with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I am originally from Northern Maine and grew up in Mars Hill, where I developed a strong appreciation for the importance of community, family, and building meaningful relationships.
I have always had a passion for working with young children and have gained experience through childcare, substitute teaching, nannying, and coaching gymnastics. These experiences have helped me learn the importance of creating a classroom where children feel safe, supported, encouraged, and excited to learn.
As a teacher, I believe every child is unique and learns in their own way. As a teacher I will strive to make learning hands-on, engaging, and fun while giving students opportunities to explore, create, move, and ask questions. Kindergarten is such an exciting year of growth, and I look forward to helping my students build confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time at camp with my family, fishing with my boyfriend, reading, coloring, and going on spontaneous road trips. I am excited to begin this journey as a kindergarten teacher and look forward to getting to know my students, families, and fellow staff members!
