Break out the bell bottoms, platform shoes and sequins. Iowa Central Community College is turning Decker Auditorium into Disco at Decker when Direct From Sweden: The Music of ABBA takes the stage Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026.
Audience members are invited to get into the spirit of the evening by dressing in their best 1970s and disco-inspired attire for a night celebrating the music of one of pop music’s most recognizable groups.
“ABBA is not background music. It’s put-on-your-platform-shoes, grab-your-friends and sing-at-the-top-of-your-lungs music,” said Sean Mulvihill, director of theatre at Iowa Central. “So for one night, we’re giving everyone permission to go big — sequins, bell bottoms, jumpsuits, all of it. We want Decker Auditorium to sparkle.”
Direct From Sweden: The Music of ABBA recreates the sound, style and energy that made ABBA an international phenomenon, with a live show featuring favorites such as “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “Waterloo” and more.
“Going to a show should feel like an event from the minute you walk through the door,” Mulvihill said. “Disco at Decker is our way of making the audience part of the fun. You don’t have to dress up, but if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to wear something with rhinestones, this is it.”
And for anyone still wondering whether they should commit to the theme, Mullhavil has a simple answer: “Take a chance on the bell bottoms. Your Saturday night will thank you.”
Direct From Sweden: The Music of ABBA will be presented Saturday, Oct. 24, at Decker Auditorium on the Iowa Central Community College campus in Fort Dodge.
