Cuttlefish, a type of cephalopod, have passed a cognitive test originally designed for human children—the "marshmallow test"—which measures self-control and delayed gratification.
In the experiment, they chose to wait for a more desirable reward instead of taking a lesser one immediately.
This behavior indicates advanced intelligence and decision-making skills, placing cephalopods among the most cognitively capable invertebrates.
