Update on Lemonade Sales in the Duncombe Commemorative Cups: It appears we have our necessary 20 sales plus a little more!!!

Lemonade Sale with Duncombe Cups:

Date: June 18th

Time: 7:30 - 12:00

Location: Right out in front of Duncombe Elementary.

My cup manufacturer is working hard to meet the demand and I will start making lemonade.

I will be reaching out to student leaders to help sell, they are a much better draw than Mr. Flaherty even if he dresses comfy!!

Our student Lighthouse Team came up with the idea to sell Duncombe commemorative cups, but we couldn't sell them at the Fine Arts days because of all of the beautiful studnet artwork. If I can get 20 people to commit to buying a Duncombe cup pictured here below with lemonade for $5, I will set up a lemondae stand with some of the student leaders!! I need 20 buyers first! Look at the cup, not the goofy Principal!!

Last week we closed out our school year with our students and we held a family engagement night for our ELL students. During the event families were able to visit the Joymobile and get some summer reading books, learned about their child’s progress on the ELPA test, measuring English proficiency and finally visited several stations of community supports. We closed the night with a meal that we enjoyed together along with individual student awards for attendance and academic achievement. What an amazing and incredible night, we are so proud of our students.

Today we held our last assembly of the 2025-2026 school year. During this assembly we honored our May Face of Leadership winners, reviewed the 7 habits by playing a game show designed by our 4th and 5th Special Event Planners, and came together as an entire school for the last time this year. What a wonderful year it has been for Duncombe Elementary! Our hope is students continue to find ways to be leaders throughout the summer and are ready to come back in the fall ready to go again!

This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and reflect on the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy. At Duncombe, students learn that remembering and showing gratitude connects to the Leader in Me habits by putting first things first through acts of respect, seeking to understand the experiences of others, and thinking win-win as we work together to build a caring community. As students find their voices and learn to lead with kindness, empathy, and responsibility, they begin to understand how honoring others helps strengthen character and citizenship. Memorial Day reminds us that leadership also means showing gratitude, serving others, and remembering those whose courage continues to inspire us each and every day. ❤️🇺🇸🖤

Love. Serve. Care.

We are so proud of Justice!! Well done young lady!!

Congratulations to our Student of the Week, Justice Rubingh. She is a 5th grader at Duncombe Elementary. She has demonstrated outstanding character and leadership throughout the school year!

She has consistently led by example through kindness, responsibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Whether helping classmates, participating in school activities, or encouraging others to do their best, she shows what it truly means to be a leader.

Her hard work, respect for others, and willingness to serve our school community make Duncombe Elementary a better place every day. We are incredibly proud of the example she sets for younger students and the impact she has on those around her. Justice, keep shining and leading the way!
