FDSH TAP Program

Summer Camp 2026 has officially begun!

Our first camp kicked off with Brody from Webster County Conservation. Due to last week's rain, we moved our activities indoors to the Matt Cosgrove River's Edge Discovery Center.

Campers learned about a variety of careers, including opportunities in Parks and Recreation, Conservation, and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR). After exploring these career paths, the rain finally cleared, giving us the chance to head outside and explore the area around the Discovery Center.

We learned so much about our local river, the importance of conservation, and ways we can all help keep our parks and natural areas clean and healthy for future generations.

A big thank you to Brody and Webster County Conservation for helping us start Summer Camp 2026 with such a fun and educational experience!

We are so proud of one of our TAP students who attends a job site at Almost Home Humane Society and has taken the initiative to organize a donation drive to support the animals in their care! ❤️

Almost Home Humane Society in Fort Dodge works tirelessly to provide a safe and loving environment for animals like Diego (7 years old) and Bambi (3 years old) while they wait for their forever homes. To help keep their animals happy, healthy, and comfortable, we are collecting the following items:

Dog or cat food and treats
Dog or cat toys
Pet beds
Pet-safe cleaning supplies
Blankets or towels

Donations can be dropped off at the Fort Dodge Senior High Main Office or Room 208 (TAP Office).

This is a wonderful example of leadership, compassion, and workplace readiness in action. Thank you for helping us support Almost Home and the amazing work they do for animals in our community! 🐾💙
