Meet Tirzah Rowe, a CSU Music Therapy student who is part of a research project investigating how music can improve the movement of patients with Parkinson’s disease. Results from the study will not be released until Spring 2026 at the earliest, yet Rowe has already observed how music improves movement.
“I think intuitively I knew that music has a huge impact on the fluidity of movement and motivation,” she said. “But it is surprising to see it in action, to see it working and to see the enjoyment that people get out of music having a real impact.”
The Music Therapy program at CSU is celebrating its 50th anniversary!
