For Jaxson Liscano-Garcia (B.S., ’25), CSU became the place where he realized his creativity, leadership, and unconventional path all had value.

A first-generation creative and business student, Liscano-Garcia balanced emergency room shifts, campus leadership roles, and a growing passion for storytelling while building a future rooted in helping others. Through mentorship, scholarship support, and community, he found the confidence to fully embrace who he was becoming.

“For someone like me… it meant everything to be acknowledged,” Liscano-Garcia said. And being acknowledged was just the start.

From Snapchat’s earliest monetization strategy to leading marketing operations across Asia-Pacific, Dave Yang (B.S., ’00) has spent his career helping define what’s next in tech. 📱

As Snapchat’s first sales and business development hire, Yang helped shape the foundation of the platform’s advertising business before the blueprint even existed. Since then, his career has spanned Facebook, Reddit, Grab, and now LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, where he serves as Managing Director APAC (Asia-Pacific).

Across every role, one theme remains the same: stepping into emerging spaces before the rules are written.

“Success rarely comes from following a roadmap,” Yang said.

Hunter Powell returned to campus to kick off commencement by ringing the Old Main Bell before delivering an inspiring speech to the Class of 2026. 🔔🎓🐏

A proud Ram alum, Hunter was a Mountain West Champion in the heptathlon and decathlon at Colorado State University before pivoting to bobsled and representing Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
