🌈 Wishing our River Song families an joyful extended weekend with plenty of color, connection, and happy moments!

A reminder that we’re Closed for on Monday Sept. 7th, giving our dedicated teachers a well earned long weekend to rest, recharge, and hopefully have a little fun, too. We’re so grateful for all the care and energy they bring to each day to our school and beyond.

Happy Labor Day!

⭐ We’re always grateful when families share their experiences with us. This review is a reminder of how much a strong, caring community shapes a child’s early years. If River Song has been a meaningful part of your family’s journey, we’d love to hear your story, too.

"The magic of Waldorf shines bright at River Song. Our first daughter, after leaving a chain daycare, absolutely blossomed with Ms. Shana in Sun Garden. She went on to Forest Kindergarten in her year before starting public school and the transition to a more academic setting was very smooth. She grew and changed so much over her three years at River Song and we’ve adored being a part of this wonderful community. Our second daughter is starting this fall and we couldn’t be more excited." ~ Matthew Bierwirth

A quiet summer afternoon, a favorite flowy dress, and a creek to sit by... looking like a scene straight out of a nostalgic dream. There is so much magic in these simple, unhurried moments when a child is completely lost in their own world.

As we turn the page toward a new school year, these are the slow, golden days we carry in our hearts, holding onto that sense of ease, curiosity, and timeless wonder as we step into the autumn ahead.

Is there a funny memory, a heartfelt story, or a big milestone from summer camp that your child keeps bringing up? Tell us all about it in the comments below, we’d love to reminisce with you!

🌳 We’ve opened a few additional spots in our Forest Kindergarten for this Fall 2026-27 School Year! Curious about what makes this learning approach so unique and cherished? Watch the video to see how children learn, explore, and grow in a fully outdoor, Waldorf guided environment - and reach out if you’d like to talk about enrolling for the upcoming school year or schedule a visit. Or share this with a family who's seeking an alternative, a classroom without walls to begin their educational journey.

"Families have the chance to slow down a bit and give their children the space to simply be children. That’s one of the most important things River Song offers, supporting parents in creating that kind of childhood.” - Ms. Oheo, Forest Kinder Lead - Oheo Laird

🔊 As we enter the last week of regular summer camp, moments like this say so much. The kids spent several tries working out their new circle “game,” listening to Ms. Peyton and leaning on one another, adjusting their gestures, and staying with it until it clicked. A summer spent side by side builds the kind of companionship and teamwork that shows up in these small, joyful impromptu collaborations!

At River Song, love is the foundation of all we do.
It lives in the way we prepare our spaces, greet each child, share our meals, and move through the rhythms of the day. And sometimes, it even shows up in the form of a heart shaped sandwich. 💛

How does your love language shine through in the lunches you pack for your children?

Now Enrolling School Age Children - afternoons outdoors can change the way a child ends their day. Our Abloom program for ages 6-12 gives them that time: steady, joyful, and rooted in nature.

With River Song’s Abloom program, we provide space for kids to get what they need after school. We explore local parks, playgrounds, and natural areas around Fort Collins, giving children time to move their bodies, breathe fresh air, and reconnect with the outdoors after a full school day. Whether they’re ready to unwind with a quiet craft or run, climb, and play, there’s a little bit of adventure and a lot of learning in every day with Abloom.

What makes Abloom unique is the way afternoons unfold: unhurried, nature based, and shaped by real experiences. Children spend their time outdoors, exploring, creating, imagining, and collaborating. They follow their curiosity, build confidence through movement and play, and enjoy a steady rhythm that supports healthy development. It’s not more sitting or more structure; it’s meaningful outdoor time that helps kids unwind, connect, reset, and end their day with contentment.

😎 Hot days call for a different rhythm. We’ve been spending more time indoors with games, creative play, and chill out moments the kids love.
We want our families to know with high temps continuing into next week, we’ll keep offering extra indoor time, more water based activities, and simple cool snacks and treats to help everyone stay healthy and comfortable.
