Finding your place in CVMBS can start with something as simple as sending an email. 📧

Kylee Pham started by reaching out to as many mentors as she could. Over time, she intentionally sought out women of color whose experiences reflected her own. That mentorship has helped shape her experience as an undergraduate student in research through:

💚 Guidance
💚 Scholarships and resources
💚 Community
💚 A stronger sense of belonging in science

We recognize that many mentors today have helped move these fields forward, even when representation was more limited. This AAPI Heritage Month, we’re honoring the mentors who created opportunities and the students who are continuing that work on their own paths.
