Legends of Ranching Performance Horse Sale The Legends of Ranching Performance Horse Sale is a student managed event hosted by CSU Equine Sciences. We typically sell 55-75 head of horses each year.

Our main focus continues to be to offer a high quality education that provides hand-on experiences to students. Each year we are provided with over 20 young horses to be used by students in the Horse Training & Sales Preparation class. These students train and prepare these horses for the sale in April. Ranches that provide young horses are also given the opportunity to consign aged performance ho

rses. The sale catalog, photography, marketing and day of management is coordinated by students in the Sales Production class. We are very proud of this event, our supporters and our students. Please contact us with any questions and we look forward to seeing you in April!

Our LAST arrivals have officially hauled in this afternoon—all the way from Montana! 🏔️🐴

And what a way to wrap up this year’s arrivals! We are absolutely smitten with these two prospects from Spur Cross Ranch. 😍

❤️ Introducing SCR PEPS LIL WIMPY, aka “Knee-High”, a stunning red roan gelding by PEPTOES and out of THISCHICSALILWIMPY.

🐞 And meet SCR STREAK OF FURY, aka “Ladybug”, a gorgeous bay roan filly by SCR PEPTOES STREAK and out of BUGS SPLATTER.

We are so excited to welcome Knee-High and Ladybug to the CSU Legends of Ranching program and cannot wait to watch them grow alongside their student partners throughout the year! 💚🐴

A huge thank you to Spur Cross Ranch for once again trusting our students and program with two outstanding young horses.

And just like that… all of our 2026–2027 Legends of Ranching horses are officially HOME! 🎉💚
