Hello everyone! We are excited to share news on a new scholarship, available to Native American Students.

This scholarship is open to students who are:
Enrolled members of a New Mexico tribe, and
Graduates of a New Mexico high school

This is the first year that funding has been offered through this program, making it an exciting opportunity to explore additional financial support for your education.

At this time, the scholarship award amount has not yet been determined, but we strongly encourage eligible students to learn more and prepare to apply.

The application deadline is July 1, so we encourage interested students to review the requirements as soon as possible.

CSU’s Larimer County and Spur campuses remain closed today, May 6. All in-person, hybrid, and remote classes and operations (meetings, work functions) are canceled for Larimer County and Spur campuses.

Heavy, wet snow on tree branches has created hazardous conditions, particularly near the Oval, the Glenn Morris Field House area, and the Academic Spine south of the Clark Building. Avoid these areas and exercise caution near trees.

Events in the Lory Student Center starting at 4:30 p.m. or later will proceed as scheduled. This only applies to special events at the LSC, not meetings. Contact organizers of special events with questions about event status.

CSU is closed and canceling all operations for May 6. All in-person, hybrid and remote classes and operations (meetings, work functions) are closed or canceled for all Larimer County campuses. A determination about evening events for May 6 at CSU's Larimer County locations will be made at noon.

CSU Spur campus in Denver will be closed and canceling all operations for May 6.

CSU employees with essential or emergency duties should coordinate with their supervisors or directors to determine their work status.

Please monitor local news outlets and local agency websites for travel information. Unless you are required to be on campus, do not report to university grounds.

The Colorado State University Lory Student is recruiting for an Executive Director of the Lory Student Center.

The Executive Director of the Lory Student Center (LSC) plays a vital leadership role within the Engagement and Belonging area of the Division of Student Affairs at Colorado State University. This position oversees a self-generated budget of $40 million, managing a staff of 125 career employees and 650 student/hourly workers, and ensuring the center remains a hub for community engagement and student success. The Executive Director will lead strategic visioning for facilities and operations, working closely with campus administrators, faculty, and student leaders to promote inclusivity and active learning. The role emphasizes collaboration to enhance student voices and orchestrate approximately 12,000 events annually, solidifying the LSC's reputation as a premier college union.

Happy Friday! The ACT Human Rights Film Festival has begun. Living Waters (ᐃᒪᕐᒥᐅᑕᐃᑦ ᐆᒪᔪᑦ) is being shown as part of the Short Films Program on Sunday, April 12, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Lyric.

Living Waters is a trip back to an Inuit way of life rooted in the Arctic. David Nanook, an Elder from the community of Taloyoak, Nunavut, passes on knowledge about how to repair and use a traditional stone fish weir, as his Elders taught him. The youth joining David reconnect with the ancestral protocols of this fishing ceremony and their Inuktitut language, reawakening their deep relationship with the land and its waters.

The Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC), in collaboration with the Native American Cultural Center (NACC) and the Graduate Student Council (GSC), invites you to an engaging book talk featuring Dr. Nishant Upadhyay, author of the award-winning Indians on Indian Lands: Intersections of Race, Caste, and Indigeneity (2024).

Dr. Upadhyay’s groundbreaking work examines the intersections of caste, race, settler colonialism, antiblackness, capitalism, and solidarity-building between Indigenous and South Asian communities. This event will provide an opportunity for all including graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, staff, faculty, and the wider CSU community to engage in meaningful dialogue on these challenging topics.
The program will include:
